Runner up - North West Bin Keeper 1996

If you are like me you will have always dreamed of owning a really unique bin. For most of us it will remain just that...a dream.

Born and bread failsworthian Andy does not just dream the dream....he is living the dream!

The man may have a few screws loose and have the social skills of a dog turd, but you can't criticize his enthusiasm. He can certainly throw together a top quality customized bin.

Andy entered the North West Bin Keepers contest many times and quite frankly was a laughing stock. However, in 1996 he re-invented himself over the winter break and the end result was quite spectacular.

Bin security is a must

As you can see Andy had to keep his bin away from prying eyes during the transformation process. He opted for the elegant wooden BinSecure2000, and was very happy with the results.

Andy on the move!

Here you can see the finished item being taken for a test run down Failsworth high street. As you can see Andy had to wear a crash helmet for his own protection. 'bin-jacking' is a major problem in Failsworth.

Yes, to the untrained eye, the finished "master-piece" looks like half a shagged out old wheelchair and bin, held together with a few bin liners and a bit of old string. But to the wheeliebin lover the creation is orgasmic.

Andy's artistic talents are clear and he named the project "Changing Bins". It went down a storm and will always have a place in the hearts of bin lovers everywhere.

On the right is an early sketch of what Andy had in mind before he started the '96 project. The man is a genius!
